What Are Essential Oils?

So what are essential oils anyway? 🌿

Essential oils are nothing new, in fact they are considered to be mans first medicine. Basically, an essential oil is aromatic, volatile liquid distilled from freshly cultivated shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes, and seeds.

Oils help plants survive and thrive, and are referred to as the plants ‘immune system’. Just like what human blood is to us, the oil is to the plant.

The chemistry of an essential oil is very complex and may consist of hundreds of different and unique chemical compounds. One drop of oil contains 40 million trillion molecules that can affect the body on a cellular level! 🙌🏻 The power of an essential oil lies in its constituents and their synergy. Each oil is composed of 200-500 different biocontituents, which make them very diverse in their effects. For example, this is why I can use Frankincense for my skin health, and to support my immune system ❤️
